I got a chance to visit this hole in the wall in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego with some colleagues on a work trip. It was excellent. Perhaps my taste buds had been beaten down by tasteless and textureless conference food, but every taco I had was a burst of flavor.
The Nopal was actually my least favorite. I think this might be the first time I ever actually had cactus in food. This version was highly pickled, and not very tasty. But the rest of the taco was still high quality.
My favorite was the lengua (beef tongue). It was so tender. It also had a really pleasant beefy taste.
