Hello! My name is Xing and I’m a home chef. I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and cuisines. My cooking is heavy in proteins and vegetables, and light on carbs and sugars. I’m on a journey toward healthy eating and living. In the last 5 years, I have lost nearly 100 pounds, through a combination of diet and exercise. A big part of that has been changing what I eat and how much I eat.

I love the act of cooking because I find it to be highly iterative. I don’t really believe in recipes; I think every dish has the potential to be improved upon or tinkered with. As such, this site is a place for me to catalog some of the recipes that I have tried and honed, but these are only meant to be the starters for cooking ideas.

I am also using this site as a means of remembering some of the restaurants and food items that I have tried. I find that the forcing function of remembering what was ordered and how it tasted can be a step toward experimenting with new recipes at home.
